Come Fill Me Up Full: Ceramic Harvest Vessel Workshop

Social [Practice]

Spend the day ceramicist Mandy Biscoe and illustrator Molly Saunders exploring the rich local traditions of making decorated harvest jugs and drinking vessels.

Working with red earthenware clay, Mandy will guide you through the process of making your vessel which will be decorated with slip and then worked into with sgraffito illustrations and text which Molly will help you develop.

The finished pieces will be taken away and fired and given a honey glaze by Mandy and then returned to Exeter Phoenix for you to collect and use to toast the harvest. All materials + firing included.

Social [practice] / Time To Reap What You Sow

A programme of events open to all that offers an alternative platform for artists and creative producers to meet and make together in a series of practical projects hosted by creative practitioners.

This Autumn, Social [practice] is all about celebrating the Harvest. Linking up with our Film Programme, we will be inviting you to come together to forage, feast and explore the darker side of folk rituals and try craft traditions with a twist.

Harvest Festival Season

As part of the ‘Harvest Festival’ season we are taking the opportunity to collect for as well as highlight the incredible work that Exeter Foodbank does. If you are attending any of the events that are part of the season you are invited to bring items to donate to the foodbank. Here is a copy of their latest priority list for donations. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Exeter Foodbank for your incredible dedication to what is sadly an essential service.

Workshop attendees get 10% off all food and hot drinks at the Café Bar.
