Further Exploring Drawing

5 Week Course

This course aims to build on your existing skills. Ideal for those with some experience wanting to develop an individual approach to drawing.

You will have the opportunity to use a range of techniques including observational drawing and a variety of media including graphite pencil, pen, white and sanguine pencils, colour pencils as well as watercolour and collage. We will be exploring the elements of design and the principles of composition to create sketches and finished pieces.

For inspiration and context we will be looking at the work of artists with a strong focus on Latin American artists who have explored the potential of drawing objects in their own unique ways to convey emotions.

Participants will be encouraged to bring in their own objects to draw to create an extra dimension to their own drawings.

Throughout the course participants will be encouraged to give each other constructive feedback and at the end of the course there will be an opportunity to present work to the group and reflect on each other’s creative journeys.
