Written and directed by Stanley Tucci Final Portrait is based on the true story of how the Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti invited James Lord, a young American critic to sit for him in his Parisian studio in 1964. What was supposed to be a portrait lasting just a few hours turned into days and then weeks.

A Giacometti bides his time, raging at his canvas, starting over countless times, the young critic gets a glimpse at the artist’s insecurities and see what a tough critic he is upon himself.

Amusing, richly performed and sympathetically accurate Final Portrait offers a vibrant and charming insight to the life of Giacometti.
