Star in Your Own Monster Movie

TWO DAY WORKSHOP

SESSION DATES:

  • Thu Oct 27: 10am – 4pm
  • Fri Oct 28: 10am – 4pm

This two day workshop will give an introduction into digital composites, green screen and stop frame animation by combining video footage of you battling a stop motion monster or villain of your own creation!

Using classic movie magic techniques, students will create and animate their own monster from modelling clay and then after filming themselves in combat against a green screen – battling their imaginary foe! Afterward they will use Adobe After Effects to blend the live action footage with their animated monster/villain to create their own superhero scene.

Skills and techniques covered will include:

  • Clay modelling
  • Stop motion animation
  • Green screen techniques
  • Simple film combat moves
  • After Effects compositing

This course is capped at only 6 places so advance booking is highly recommended. Suitable for those aged 8-13 years, a knowledge of animation or filmmaking is not required.

Please bring a packed lunch with you. All materials will be provided, there will be some limited props available, however the attendees will be encouraged to bring their own superhero costumes or accessories.

We offer a range of film production courses covering scriptwriting, cinematography, sound, editing and visual effects, please do take a look at the full programme of courses available.
