Phoenix Nights: An exploration of what it means to be fully human in today’s world.
Speaker – David Hess, “Recovery Through Dreams”
We are very pleased to invite you to the first in a series of interesting talks and discussions on aspects of this difficult thing of being human at Exeter Phoenix. These free and open talks are led by people working in the field of mental well-being and everyone is welcome to participate in a post-talk discussion.
These events have grown out of a collaboration between Recovery Devon and the Department of Psychology in Devon Partnership Trust. You are welcome, as fellow travelers, to join us as we seek to discover new connections and gather informed wisdom on our personal journeys towards recovery and well-being.
Pat Deegan famously asserted that the goal of Recovery is not about being normal, the goal is to embrace the human vocation of becoming more deeply, more fully human.
Our hope is that this hospitable gathering will be another small and supportive step in cultivating the growing community of goodwill in Devon and for us all on the path to realising our full humanity.
