Katy Connors work demonstrates a fascination with the moving image and its capacity to visualise patterns of thought and physical sensation – especially those at the edge of articulation, on the periphery of vision or behind closed eyes. Through screen-based works, sculptures and drawings she explores how technologies can become extensions to our bodies and our senses.
The artists latest work Pure Flow, commissioned by the 2009 Exeter Phoenix Digital Media Bursary, generates live imagery and sound created from the data flows between a GPS device (Global Positioning System) and the multiple satellites which constantly triangulate its position.
