Creating With Textiles
1 Day Workshop
Sat 02 Mar 2024
10.30am - 4pm
This 1 day workshop explores the use of fabric as a medium for making both two dimensional and three dimensional artworks. You will have the opportunity to develop your own project, with guidance from the tutor.
We will be exploring textures, different hand stitching techniques, alternative stuffing such as herbs and recyclable materials, acrylic painting on fabric, and take inspiration from Latin Amaerican artists who create using textiles and reflect on their practice.
Basic materials will be provided and we want to reuse existing fabrics rather than newly purchased so we encourage people to bring along their unwanted textiles to use and share remember we are creating small scale objects so you won’t need too much! It will also be useful for you to bring along a sketch book to make notes and to record ideas.
