Mary McArdle comes back home after spending six months in prison for something she’d rather forget. Her best friend Charlene is getting married in three weeks and Mary has to embark on a desperate and hilarious mission to find herself a date.

Only nothing is straightforward to Mary as she realises that she’s more attracted to Jess, the wedding videographer, than she is any of her would-be male suitors. And what’s more, her connection to Charlene isn’t what it once was. With a perfectly honed sense of place and time, this is a touching, nuanced drama with moments of wry laugh-out-loud comedy, endearing characters, and a stunning performance by Seána Kerslake. She ensures ‘Mad’ Mary stays with you long after the credits roll.
