Susie Green: Fluid Medium

As part of Exeter Contemporary Open 2016, and prior to the exhibition launch itself, artist Susie Green will stage the performance artwork Fluid Medium on Thu 8 Sep, which utilises the format of the life drawing class and the participation of others. Artist Susie Green leads the event as model, performer and facilitator, choreographing a collaborative, immersive workshop environment through music and lighting, leading exercises in drawing and simple sculptural practices. The process of her performance will form a new piece of work that will feature in the exhibition, which opens shortly afterwards on the 16 Sep.

Those attending should be open to participation in the performance (although will not be asked to remove their clothes!), however previous life drawing experience is not required.

Susie Green works with a range of media including sculpture, performance and painting, focussing on the human body as a site for intimacy and sensuality.

In addition to her artistic practice she also writes lyrics and sings in bands. Currently collaborations include music and performance with artists Rory Pilgrim and Simon Bayliss.

In 2015/16 she was one of ten artists selected for The Syllabus­ an alternative education programme that supports ten artists led by Wysing Arts Centre in association with Eastside Projects, New Contemporaries, S1 Artspace, Spike Island and Studio Voltaire.
