Sewing From A Pattern With Arrietty

Four Week Course

Level 3-4: Perfect for anyone that has completed our Introduction to Dressmaking course, or has previous experience in making their own garment.

During this four week course you will be given advice and support in making a garment using a pattern of your choice. You will be shown how to read the pattern (which you will need to provide) and guided through the construction step by step. In week two, you will need to bring your own fabric. Information about the amount and type of fabric will be given in week one.

Pre-Course Information

Please bring in Week One:

• Your own pattern (we recommend Vogue, Style and Simplicity)
• A note book and pen

Please bring in Week Two:

• Basic sewing kit (if you have one)
• Your sewing machine if you would like to use your own. If not, please email arrietty@mail.com, and we can provide a machine for you.
• Your own fabric

Professional Tutor:

Lesley Strath is a professional seamstress with many years experience, making and designing bespoke wedding dresses. She has been working as a sewing tutor for Arrietty for the past 4 years.
