The work of Jain McKay dissects human behavior and renders it foreseeable, commonplace and mundane. Illuminating our predictability with insightful research and throwing light upon the key patterns that subconsciously drive us. Heavily influenced by narrative storytelling and autobiography, Lying Portraits examines the place of the lie in todays society.
Each portrait originates from a photograph taken while the sitter was telling a lie. The intention is to highlight the act of lying and to question if lies have now become a necessity rather than a danger?
