Studio Ghilbi and director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away) present a beautifully epic adventure. Join us for a special Half Term film screening.
Sophie has an uneventful life at her late father’s hat shop, but all that changes when she befriends Howl, a young wizard who lives in a magical, walking castle. However, the evil Witch of Waste takes issue with their budding relationship and casts a spell on young Sophie and curses her with an old body. Sophies only chance of breaking the spell lies with Howl who must use all his magical talents to battle the jealous witch and return Sophie to her former self.
Just as Miyazaki seemed on the verge of properly crossing over, he serves up an anime riddle wrapped in an enigma though with all his usual charm, wit and hand-drawn beauty.
