Join us for a screening of Bevis Bowden’s new film documenting the 2022 Halstow Wassail. Featuring Jim Causley, Bill Murray, and Mariners Away, the film follows the singers and participants as they celebrate “the great good unseen”: the microbial life that plays a vital role in cider-making.
This new film was produced as part of artist Simon Pope’s project Here’s To Thee, a commission for Arts & Culture at the University of Exeter and RAMM, in partnership with Grays Devon Cider.
The film will be accompanied by a selection of cidermaking- and wassail-related films from the SWIFTA archive. This will be preceded by live music from 4-5pm at RAMM, featuring songs from the project.
Commissioned by Arts & Culture at the University of Exeter, and The Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter (2020-22), with additional funding from Arts Council England.
