Learn how to code a simple, dynamic, browser-based web application using the PHP programming language.
In this course, you will look beyond HTML and CSS to build a simple data-driven web application using PHP. After an introduction of basic coding principles and syntax, you will then work through some examples, resulting in a working application that captures and processes data.
PHP is a programming language used by many of the web’s most popular sites. By the end of this one day workshop, you’ll have a sound understanding of the concepts and techniques that will allow you to code your own dynamic websites. That knowledge can also be applied to adapting and customising code from myriad open-source PHP web applications.
This course would be a good primer for people looking to progress from web design into web development. The basic principles taught here can be applied to many programming languages, and PHP is highly relevant for users looking to go on to to develop themes and plugins for PHP-based projects like WordPress. Some understanding of HTML and CSS would be useful, but no previous programming experience is required.
Workshop attendees get 10% off all food and hot drinks at the Café Bar.
