Half Day Workshop

Learn the simple art of Japanese Stab Binding to bind together your old postcards, photos, magazine clippings and more into a decorative work of art that’s completely unique to you.

Bring along your own ephemera to create a beautiful notebook that contains your own memories, or make a personal gift for someone else.

Suggested materials

postcards, photos, greetings cards, magazine and newspaper clippings, assorted papers and thin card, seed packets, paper/thin cardboard packaging, tickets, posters, leaflets, book covers and dust jackets, handwritten lists and notes, napkins, fabric, pieces of old clothes

A selection of materials will be provided but the more you bring the better!

Tutor: Esther Williams

Esther Williams is a designer and bookbinder based in Somerset.

She is the founder of Este Libro; a craft business hand- making artisan Coptic bound books and albums, (Hauser and Wirth Galleries and The British Library currently stock her work). She now teaches a variety of craft workshops including bookbinding workshops for beginners and improvers.
