USA, 1986, 101 mins, Dir. Jim Henson
A classic for all children of the 1980s, Hensons Labyrinth combines the three universally appealing factors of fairytale adventure, a lycra-clad David Bowie and fantastic puppetry. Well worth revisiting on the big screen and a definite must-see for anyone new to the film.
Labyrinth stars a young Jennifer Connelly as Sarah, a girl who accidently wishes her baby brother away to the Goblin King Jareth (David Bowie). What ensues is a magical rescue mission through the Goblin Kings labyrinth, a maze full of mystical creatures.
Join a post-screening debate to discuss Hensons fantastical worlds, the imaginative creations of the films legendary puppet-maker Brian Froud and the films impact on a whole generation.
