Toby Strong is a multi-Emmy and Bafta winning wildlife cameraman, who has worked on many of the BBC’s landmark series throughout his career. Over the last 25 years Toby has travelled across every continent, from crossing the Sahara with camels to sailing to the Galapagos, from the Himalayas to the ice caves on the peak of mount Erebus in Antarctica.
As someone who has seen the beauty of this world but also its demise, Toby cares very deeply and this talk will be full of passion, extraordinary tales, humour, and heart.

Toby Strong is a multi Emmy and BAFTA award winning wildlife cameraman. For the last 25 years Toby has travelled to every continent and most environments on Earth, and has worked on most of the BBC’s Landmark series over the past two decades. He has walked with elephants, bears and gorillas. Stolen the kill from a lion pride with the Dorobo tribe. Stood with Sir David next to the last two northern white rhinos. And faced more deadly snakes than is healthy. From Toby’s beginnings in a small English village we follow his unique and amazing life to the four wild corners of the world. His encounters with incredible animals and incredible people. Now, Toby’s life is focused more and more on the challenges facing us.
He has witnessed the vast ice melts in Antarctica and Greenland, stood on the Tibetan border and seen the great glaciers vanishing. Spoken with sea gypsies and Madagascan fishermen who have seen their oceans wiped clean. Mongolian herders who have lost their livestock to climate change because of our actions on the other side of the globe. Flown over the endless palm oil plantations of Indonesia and stood up to his waist in the great landfill sites of east Africa. This now drives his life. His most recent project, Earthshot Prize, saw him working with Sir David Attenborough and Prince William on a series that looks to halt and solve our great problems.
