Ever wanted to have a go at animation and not known where to start? Think you need lots of expensive kit to even have a go? Think again.

Multi award winning animator Ashley Thorpe’s workshop will give you a crash course in DIY animation: from generating ideas to storyboarding, techniques and beyond. In this hands on workshop you’ll get to create a character and bring it to life with lots of practical guidance on simple story and technique.

Ashley Thorpe is a regular tutor for Young & Animated. He is currently completing the animated film Borley Rectory with Reece Shearsmith and has just finished his first Hollywood commission; an animated sequence for horror anthology Tales of Halloween with Neil Marshall.
