Exeter Contemporary Sounds presents

Marenje

Formed in 2001, Exeter Contemporary Sounds work with both local and established composers to create and perform innovative and unique contemporary music.

This weekend they perform the fruits of Marenje, a project which pulls together artists from diverse musical backgrounds to form a unique cross-cultural music and dance experience.

Featuring world-renowned Zimbabwean mbira player, Chartwell Dutiro with Denise Rowe and the string quartet of Exeter Contemporary Sounds, these diverse musicians, each icons within their cultures, provoke, explore and delve deep into each others’ rhythms, moods and creative drive.
