Studio Improv L2

Studio Improv L2 leads on from our L1 sessions. Our level 2 workshops deliver the craft of improvised acting for those looking to develop their improv skills in sessions that are dedicated to learning specific tools that will enable you to build sustainable characters and scenes.

We will look at how as an improviser, you don’t need to be creative to be spontaneous and make a wide variety of weird and wonderful, as well as the more serious characters whilst developing scenes. The core principles of good scene work will be explored, from how to start scenes, to spotting the type of scene you’re in, how to play it, and how to think about scenes when they are over; alongside the exploration of characters which will be drawn from a mixture of fun exercises and ideas, and a more in depth and acute look at character development to discover how we can use characters to help power our scenes.

The L2 workshops are designed for those who already have the foundation understanding of improvised acting, or a good understanding of acting and aim to invoke an in depth look at creative blocks and fears that prevent individuals from achieving their personal best!

Studio Improv L2 is led by Josephine Larsen:

Josephine is an NLP master practitioner and Hollywood acting coach who trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School before going on to study dance for 5yrs in Copenhagen.

Since then, she has enjoyed a 40+yr professional career as an actress, dancer, director, teacher and performance writer in Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris and UK, in a wide variety of dramatic manifestations such as Cabaret, Rock Theatre, Fringe, Classical Theatre, T.V., Film, Radio and Surreal Performance.

Studio Improv L2 will have a max of 10 participants.
