EASTER THEATRE WEEK FOR IMAGINATIVE 8 – 12 YEAR OLDS

Imaginative young people aged 8 to 12 are invited to create a stage play with award winning PaddleBoat Theatre Company during the Easter holidays.

The inventive Exeter-based company, which is known for its distinctive and playful approach to theatre, will guide youngsters through a week of storytelling, puppetry, music, design, acting and devising.

This theatre week offers children the chance to have fun creating with other children and professional artists to put together a piece of original drama and perform on a professional stage at the Exeter Phoenix.

The week will focus on The Future of Exeter! What will Exeter look like in the future? You decide. You’re invited to join the planning team to design a city that reflects your hopes, dreams, spark curiosity and inspire creativity to change Exeter for the better.

Use your imagination to envision your perfect city near the sea and bring this to life, introducing an audience to your weird and wonderful future! From rooftop gardens, tiger play parks, magical forests to wacky water wheels – ideas will be brought to life on the Phoenix’s stage.

At the end of the week, friends and family will be welcomed to the Exeter Phoenix auditorium to watch the children perform their very own version of the Future of Exeter.

Hattie Brown of PaddleBoat, said: ‘This week will be such a lot of fun. It’s a chance for you to make new friends and design and perform your own ideas!’

The course is for children aged 8-12 years old on course start date – no previous theatre experience required.

Rehearsals and the performance will take place in the Exeter Phoenix. PaddleBoat will be at the Exeter Phoenix entrance to meet and greet children and parents/guardians. By purchasing a place on this theatre week you agree that your child(ren) must be signed in when they are dropped off and signed out when they are picked up by a nominated adult.

Refunds will not be given unless the booked space is filled by another customer.
