Carrion Events Present: Mancunian Man The Legendary Life Of Cliff Twemlow

Dir. Jake West
2023 | 124 mins | UK

SHOWING TIMES:

  • Sat 23 Mar: 8pm

Let Carrion Events introduce you to the inimitable and irrepressible renaissance man CLIFF TWEMLOW – the Orson Welles of Eccles – who dreamed big, often a lot bigger than his means allowed. You’ve probably never heard of him, but the tenacious polymath Twemlow was a nightclub bouncer, novelist, composer, singer, screenwriter, producer and actor who birthed a micro-film industry in his home city of Manchester. His often unbelievable life story – equally hilarious, moving and inspiring – is vividly brought to the big screen in this compelling documentary by cult director Jake West – director of the seminal documentary Video Nasties: Moral Panic, Censorship & Videotape.

We are delighted to welcome director Jake West and film archivist Marc Morris to the Exeter Phoenix for an introduction and post screening Q&A.

Free entry to Exeter Cavern after the screening. Keep hold of your ticket for proof of entry.
