Ceramic Plaque Workshop

Create your very own ceramic plaque for your wall or house front in this hands-on one day workshop.

We will be using slips, glazes and relief patterning to explore different plaque making techniques.

What will you create? Maybe something in an art deco style, or create your own ‘Picasso face’. Maybe you will be influenced by Hilma Af Klint’s beautiful colours and forms, or of course, take inspiration from your own imagery and influences. Whatever your style, Sarah will help you create something unique and personal.

Places are limited and pre-booking is required. To learn about the Covid-19 safety measures we have put in place please read the following information about your visit to Exeter Phoenix >>

TUTOR

Sarah John: BA Hons Applied Arts (Ceramics)/PTLLS

Sarah John is a practising ceramics and fine artist and has been teaching at Exeter Phoenix for over 3 years. Observation of human and natural form (in both 2D and 3D media) has remained central to her interests. Sarah focuses on learning ‘ways to see’, that are key for expressing the world of form around us, and on sharing skills and techniques in an informal atmosphere, which bring out the best creative ideas.

Workshop attendees get 10% off all food and hot drinks at the Café Bar.
