Join us on a hunt for meadow grass and wildflower seed. We aim to visit and map some growing spaces in Exeter that can provide seeds to add to the Exeter Seed Bank Meadow Pot creating a local wild seed store from and for Exeter. The walk will end at Exeter Phoenix where we will process and look at seeds and have a well-earned brew.
Please note we are starting the walk at Devon Wildlife Trust Garden on the Quay. The address is Cricklepit Mill, Commercial Rd. Exeter EX2 4AB.
Exeter Seed Bank aims to complement other horticultural groups and initiatives in Exeter by sharing knowledge about seed saving, an ancient craft on the brink.
They welcome stories, insights, and social arts practices, which grow our collective knowledge about seeds and aim to create a programme of events that follow the seed calendar; sowing, growing, harvesting and collecting to create a seed bank that works for our area’s soils. ESB are keen to discover local varieties of heritage seeds and re-introduce that diversity into our local environment.
