ABOUT: ALRIGHT MATE?
Suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under 50. In England alone, that equates to 12 deaths every single day. Sadly due to social stigma, many men feel unable to seek help for their mental health before they reach a crisis point. Alright Mate? CIC wants to get everyone talking about male mental health so that no one needs to ever struggle alone. We do this by making audio installations, books and plays, all based on real and relateable stories. We work directly with diverse communities including veterans, construction workers and new dads. Our work has been shown in places including including barbershops, gyms and building sites to help get the conversation started. Check out our website www.alrightmateproject.com We’re raising awareness about male mental health. One conversation at a time.
You can check out our original Alright Mate? Installation at Roots Barbershop, 6 New Bridge Street, Exeter. It was previously shown at the Bloom festival in 2019 and our sell out show Cracking was at Exeter Phoenix later that year. Twitter @alrightmatecic Instagram @alrightmateproject
