Hell-Tor Film Festival
Sat 09 Nov 2019
All about Ghosts was THE childrens book of 1977, a library legend that burned its way into the hearts and minds of an entire generation. Anna Howorth of the original publisher Usborne tells the story of both the books creation, its legacy and its resurrection in 2019 for a whole new generation.
A new festival celebrating Dartmoors rich history of ghosts, ghouls and witchcraft. The inaugural Hell-Tor film festival will present a weekend of Gothic horror with films, talks and readings inspired by the folklore of the moor.
Hell-Tor is a mixture of classic horror features, shorts, lectures and opportunities to hear renowned genre directors, authors and actors talk openly of their own love of the genre and the regions legacy. Its time for horror to come home.
Usborne is one of the UKs leading childrens book publishers. Anna Howorth has been with the independent, family business for over 15 years. She runs the UK marketing and publicity team and also oversees global branding, managing the way in which the Usborne brand is represented around the world. Alongside director Ashley Thorpe and Nucleus films Anna was a key instigator of the re-issue of the much loved 1977 Usborne title All about Ghosts.
