1940, London, the Blitz. Catrin, an untried screenwriter is hired by the Ministry of Information to offer a female perspective in the creation of moral-boosting propaganda films. Alongside fellow screenwriter, Buckley and eccentric actor Ambrose Hilliard, the trio set off to make a film that will warm the hearts of the nation and capture the imagination of the population.

Their Finest, based on Lissa Evans’ novel, Their Finest Hour and a Half, is a witty, romantic and moving portrayal of a young woman finding her way, and her voice, in the mayhem of war and a changing national landscape.

‘You’d need a heart of stone and a funny bone of porridge not to enjoy this sweet-natured and eminently lovable British film’
