Previously adapted for the stage, Simon Stone’s feature film debut offers a fresh and contemporary approach to Henrik Ibsen’s timeless classic The Wild Duck.

Featuring Geoffrey Rush and Sam Neill The Daughter expertly unpicks family skeletons with elegant, brooding subtlety, building to a finale with an implosive emotional charge. Rising star Odessa Young is arguably the film’s most sparkling performer: she’s mesmerising, full of youthful effervescence and an emotional authority that powers the entire film.
