Storytelling Through Textiles

Experiment with textiles to explore embroidery, appliqué and quilting techniques to craft meaningful narratives.

Whether you’re a beginner or looking for new inspiration to develop your work, this course is about sharing ideas and taking part, and we welcome stitchers of all abilities. Each session offers a creative space to connect, inspire, and bring your stories to life through textiles.

Chose the format that works for you or try out several, from simple fabric books to small scrolls and banners. Work with different embroidery stitches and appliqué to create a personal treasure or a keepsake for someone special.

Your tutor Ludmila Centurión will be delving into her own rich Latin American heritage to inspire you and in each session, there will be an introduction to the works of artists and craftspeople from this region.

Materials are provided, but participants are also encouraged to bring their own fabrics and old clothes to repurpose, fostering creativity and cultural connection through textile storytelling.
