The Steampunk Yule Ball

Where the Wild Things Are

There is something lurking in ethereal undergrowth… a flash of scales, or is it fur? A whining-barking-bleating… It’s a wild thing and it’s getting ready for the best party of the year – The Steampunk Yule Ball 2023.

And this year we encourage you to unleash your own inner wild thing. It could be animal, beast or mythical creature.  Perhaps you have an inner dragon … or fancy yourself as a rainbow unicorn. Is there a wild warrior Faery inside you or perhaps a wonky wildebeest? All are welcome here – and what a party we have in store for you!

So all that remains now is for you to join us in this WILD THING Spectacular! Unleash the Beast!

Roll up, roll up, and get your tickets here!

MAIN STAGE:MR B – THE GENTLEMAN RHYMER

Mr B has been described as a cross between David Niven and Scroobius Pip, he is gloriously moustachioed, sharply suited and always with banjolele in hand. He has garnered millions of views on YouTube and his media appearances have included Rapping for Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight, playing live on BBC Radio One for Rob Da Bank, Nick Grimshaw and Scott Mills, on Radio Two for Claudia Winkleman and Steve Lamacq, 6Music for Tom Robinson and Shaun Keaveny and for Zoe Ball on Sky Arts.THE SWEETCHUNKS BAND

Sweetchunks are an unusual, yet compelling amalgamation of parodic folk, rock, chap-hop and drinking anthems, fused into a Steampunk horse-carriage of farcical and anecdotal comedy. These beasts are the original wild things so who better to entertain us this year.QUEEN MAB

Her witchery will descend, ushering in a phantasmagorical feast for the senses as this musical monarch takes to our stage. Queen Mab is an irreverent yet commanding, escapist, ethereal, alluring, slightly unhinged… Fun, but with an undeniable darker streak. She conjures a heady witches’ brew of wildly eclectic influences – a pinch of trip-hop here, a dash of breakbeat there, a healthy dollop of funk, a drizzle of folk, and lashings of R&B, soul, and jazz. Ostensibly, it’s theatrical art-pop that ran away with the circus and woke up in a field somewhere… And with its sense of dramatic flair, witty lyricism, musical kudos, and banging beats, it may also prove to be the stuff of legend.FUNKE AND THE TWO TONE BABY

For anyone who has been at pretty much any festival over the past few years, FUNKE has been tearing down musical walls and genres to forge a path for the WILD THINGS. Funke and the Two Tone Baby is a one man army. Uncategorised and uncharted. A blur of buttons and sweat. Powerful walls of grooving, dirty electronica and a whirlwind of energy walk a fine line between 90’s dance, electro-rock and alt-blues.

Plus:

We will have some dark and seductive cabaret from Miss KIARA LEIGH.

DJS IN THE BAR: DJ ILLER INSTINCT, DJ FARAMIX, DJ TYGZ playing everything from Electroswing, Steampunk, Garage & DnB.

And leading the ceremonies is Her wildness FEY PINK.
