Join us for another spectacular (& Slightly spooky) spoken-word event, featuring celebrated Scottish poet Kevin P. Gilday, UK Slam Champion Kathryn O’Driscoll, plus a Dead Poets Slam

Kathryn O’Driscoll

Kathryn O’Driscoll is a spoken word poet, writer and activist from Bath, England. She talks openly about disabilities, mental health, LGBTQIA+ issues and joys and gender politics in her wide range of poems. She is the current UK Slam Champion and a World Slam Finalist. Aside from performing poetry across the South West, she has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, at multiple UK National competitions, on BBC Radio Bristol and was featured on the BAFTA-winning Sky Arts spoken word TV show Life and Rhymes.

Kevin P. Gilday

Kevin P. Gilday is an award-winning poet, writer and performer from Glasgow. He is a National Theatre of Scotland Breakthrough Writer, a BBC Writersroom Scottish Voice and one of Scotland’s most celebrated contemporary poets. Kevin has performed all over the world, from Hollywood to East Kilbride, and supported artists and public figures such as Akala, Saul Williams, George the Poet, Jackie Kay, The Silencers and Jeremy Corbyn. He has published four books of poetry, with his most recent – Sad Songs for White Boys (via Speculative Books) – bringing together nearly ten years of work. His next collection, Anxiety Music, is due to be published by Verve Press in Sept 2022.

The four poets will be brought to life by WOMAD Slam Champion Ceri Baker, Spork!’s Haiku Slam winner Deeksha Verender, ex-Bard of Exeter Robert Garnham, and the Bristol based spoken-word wonder that is Leilah King
