Two Hour Workshop

Learn about the history of movie-making and animation with this crafted based two hour workshop for 5 – 11 year olds. During the session children will be able to make their own spinning thaumatrope, a magic trick devised in the 19th century, consisting of a disc with a different picture on each of its two sides, which appear to combine into one image when the disc is spun quickly.

Under the supervision of our dedicated animation tutors, the children will find out more about the main principles of animation by designing their own disks using different coloured pens and card.

Children will be able to take their designs home with them at the end of the session. Parents/guardians are welcome to stay for the workshop and join in the fun!
