South West Dance Hub

South West Dance Hub is an inspirational space for dance artists, movers and choreographers to share, learn, grow, support and be supported.

These co-facilitated monthly sessions focus on dance technique, improvisation & choreographic exercises. There will be space to share your projects & explore collaborations, in a supportive space.

The hub encourages artists from other disciplines ie visual arts, filmmakers, musicians, costume makers, scenographers to join us in the sessions for collaboration.

We meet on the second Friday each month.

The Facilitators:

Ruth Bell:

Dance is a constant thread running throughout my life, emerging and remerging in many guises. I am a dancer, choreographer, filmmaker and passionate advocate of cross art collaboration. Much of my inspiration is drawn from the people I work with.

I am rooted in Devon and would love to be part of a culturally vibrant dance art scene here in the South West.

Jenny Pill:

I have worked as a performer, a choreographer and a teacher. In the 2000s I ran my own Creative Arts company SussedArts and since then danced for many years with the Mexican Dance Company Bajo Luz. I am currently working as an independent dance artist in Devon, with a focus on filmmaking. I am the director of Exeter Dance International Film Festival.

Dance fills my life with energy, challenge and joy. I love to explore emotional authenticity in myself and others whilst connecting with like-minded dance practitioners.
