Run Talk Run exists to make both mental health support and running more accessible and less intimidating. It is a global peer support running group founded in 2017 by Jessica Robson, when she realised she needed something different to support her mental health.
Join us at Bloom for a chat, find out more about what we do, meet some our members and then grab your trainers for an all-ability run around Exeter!
Run Talk Run Exeter meets weekly on a Thursday evening for a free, all-ability 5km. We run, jog, and walk a bit, while talking, listening and supporting one another, through the miles and through the trials of life. We facilitate a safe space to talk about mental health and how we are really feeling with a bunch of kind people who ‘get it’. All head spaces are welcomed – mental health support first, running second. As much as conversations around mental health are to be expected, there is no pressure to talk. The group and its attendees each week are there to listen to and support one another, and not to advise or judge, Run Talk Run Exeter celebrated its 2nd birthday last month, having started in April 2021. We usually have between 4 and 10 runners join each week. You can find us and sign up to attend a run on the Heylo community events app or website. Create a profile for yourself, join the Run Talk Run – South West group, and then find Run Talk Run Exeter under ‘Events’.
