Writer Lucy Bell is the recipient of the Kevin Elyot Award 2020 and Ronald Duncan Playwriting Award. She is associate artist at Exeter Northcott Theatre and Exeter Phoenix and an alumnus of the Soho Theatre Writers Lab. She mentors writers for performance and teaches workshops on writing from verbatim.

Lucy runs Devon-based company Documental Productions with Naomi Turner and is interested in compelling, funny stories that shine a light aspects of British society and how we take care of each other.

This short workshop on Writing for Performance will include exercises and practical approaches to some of the following:

– sharpening your voice as a writer

– developing memorable characters

– creating a vivid world for audiences to step into

– structure and drafting
