Quirk Theatre: Fabric of home

A community exhibition by Quirk Theatre in partnership with Refugee Support Devon, HIKMAT and RAMM.

In Summer 2026, we led creative textile workshops for members of the Exeter community at RAMM as part of the development of their new festive show, Yeti. Led by local artist, Aga Eden, and inspired by flags and banners from cultures around the world, participants from Refugee Support Devon and Hikmat were invited to explore what home means to them whilst creating their very own personal fabric banner.

The resulting artworks tell beautiful, vibrant stories of welcome, longing and belonging, reminding us that our relationship with home is deeply personal. Other banners made during these workshops and our public banner making event at RAMM will feature in the show, meaning that the Exeter community is right at the heart of the story.

Yeti is a hilarious, heartwarming show for all the family, co-created with pupils from Bowhill & Ladysmith primary schools. Exploring friendship, courage and what it means to truly belong, expect big laughs, spectacular sets, original music and a healthy dose of Quirky silliness.

About Quirk Theatre

At Quirk, we make theatre for all generations. Theatre that inspires, amazes, educates and entertains. We have built up a loyal following of family audiences and school groups and are proud that close to 4000 people come to see our Christmas shows every year. Witty, playful and often anarchic, we devise original work with a social conscience, offering a meaningful alternative to pantomime. Community engagement is fast becoming the beating heart of our work and we offer high quality, empowering and inspiring arts opportunities with every project.

A Quirk show is often a child’s first experience of live theatre which is a responsibility we take very seriously indeed. We believe that the whole experience of going to the theatre is important; the intimacy of an auditorium, the sound and lighting and stage magic, but also the opportunity for children to feel ownership of arts spaces. This is why we don’t take our productions into schools. But we do love taking our workshops, co-creation projects and artist visits into Devon schools, community centres and public buildings, making amazing things happen with our audiences, because we believe that everyone should have access to the arts.
