How do you write about yourself? How do you put yourself in your poems?

Whether writing for the page, performance or just for fun, this is a free, engaging workshop exploring different techniques and ideas for writing poetry. We’ll be exploring tone, tense and alienation when writing about ourselves, our lives and experiences. Expect biscuits, games, lots of silly tasks, as well as the opportunity to write and share work (no pressure!) in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Ideal for people at any level in their writing, particularly beginning or budding poets, people with an interest in writing for performance and anyone who wants to try something new!

CHRIS WHITE is a former Bard of Exeter, current Exeter Slam Champion and an associate artist at TRP. He’s been writing and performing theatre and spoken-word for over a decade and has ran workshops with Libraries Unlimited and The Boat Poets Project. He also co-hosts Spork! a monthly night of spoken-word in Exeter. His current show Moist, Moist, Moist is on at Exeter Phoenix on Sat 14th Sep.
