This session is no longer taking place in-person at Exeter Phoenix. Instead it will be taking place online on Monday 22nd April 6:30 – 8:30pm.
Join award-winning theatre company Part of the Main for ‘Part of the Grid’, their series of online theatre training workshops aimed at providing artists with practical skills that enable them to create and develop their own work. These sessions will run throughout April and include: Marketing Your Theatre Production, Introduction to QLab for Sound Design, Introduction to Captioning, Introduction to Audio Description, and Budgeting & Fundraising for Theatre.
Five free spots in each workshop are available to deaf, disabled, neurodiverse, Black, and Global Majority artists on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Budgeting and Fundraising for Theatre
A crash course in how to create a working budget for your theatre project, and how to find funding from sources like Arts Council, trusts and foundations, individual donors, and related engagement activities. Led by Part of the Main’s Artistic Director Olivia Munk, who has produced work at venues like the Barbican, Soho Theatre, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and VAULT Festival.
QLab for Sound Design
An introduction on how to use and programme QLab, the leading software for sound design in live performance, led by a working sound designer. By the end of the workshop, participants will feel comfortable programming a basic sound design.
