Author and illustrator of numerous fabulous picture books, Nick Ward is perhaps best known for being the Custodian of the Journals of the lost boy adventurer, Charlie Small. The journals describe Charlie’s amazing adventures and how he is helped by some incredible mechanical animals called Jakeman’s Mechanimals.

Nick needs your help in designing your own marvellous Mechanimal to help save Charlie from a desperate situation. All you need is your imaginations and we’ll supply the paper and pencils.
