Moving Image for Mental Health; A series of powerful short films celebrating recovery in the wildest sense.

“Really beautiful. So amazed with the work you do and such captivating art and message.” – Iona. These beautiful short films have been co created by the Rite to Freedom community and funded by the National Lottery Reaching Communities fund. They include live action, original artwork and animation exploring the process of recovery from addiction, self harm, mental health challenges and trauma. They are a celebration of the journeys to healing through the natural world, the power of community and creativity. Caspar and some of the contributors will be at the screening to discuss the creative, healing process and the extraordinary journey these films took them on. Not to be missed. “Moved. Emotional, taken into the core of my being and connected to the interconnectedness of it all.” – Anon

Hosted by Rite to Freedom Founder and Creative Director, Caspar Walsh. Caspar is an award-winning filmmaker, novelist and journalist with over 35 years of recovery from trauma, addiction and mental health challenges. “Rite to Freedom comes with this kind of burning heart of love at its centre and radiates through everything it does.” Participant 2023.
