London Astrobeat Orchestra

London Astrobeat Orchestra performs songs from the iconic Talking Heads film Stop Making Sense, live. When gigging at venues like London’s Jazz Cafe, their shows are funky, rhythmic, hypnotic, anthemic, uplifting, groovy, percussive, smack on point and earth-shatteringly tight.

The band includes some of the finest West African session musicians around with legendary bandleader and bassist Edd Bateman. Blending rhythmic influences from Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Cameroon and Congo, the band features Lingala singer King Fire, blues rock guitarist and vocalist Julian Burdock, Guinean Master Griot kora player Mosi Conde, the mbalax rhythms from Badou N’Diaye and more.

‘This is The Talking Heads – Stop Making Sense delivered live & with a degree of raw, cosmic, human energy that will totally, utterly & completely blow your wig off’
