“Help” (2026) imagines an autonomous entity with needs and desires of its own. Wedged into its alcove behind glass, is it on display, or hiding? Weighed down by a mass of objects, does it need our help? Is it free to do as it wishes, or does it answer to someone else?

John Elliott is a sculptor interested in the manufactured world that has become our human habitat. His sculptures are ambiguous playing with form and scale, mixing recycled and repurposed objects with inappropriately low tech objects like wood and paint to create cargo-cult facsimiles of uncanny robots and machines.
