Introduction to Green Screen & Compositing

Add instant production value to your films through green screen filmmaking and digital compositing. Under the supervision of our FX tutor Ashley Thorpe, learn the techniques and skills required to create visually powerful images.

This two day course will teach you some insider professional tricks to shooting with green screen and how to effectively composite your footage afterwards; from planning, lighting, blocking to compositing and editing. Learn the tools, advantages and pitfalls whilst ensuring you can go on to create quality images of your own.

All courses are taught on Apple Mac computers and skills learnt are transferable to PC.

Professional Tutor – Ashley Thorpe

Ashley Thorpe is a professional filmmaking and FX editor based in Exeter.

Ashley returned to his Devon roots in 2005 and focused all his energies upon creating a series of animated short films using neglected aspects of English mythology as source material. His latest production – Borley Rectory (a Carrion Film / Glass Eye Pix NYC co-venture) starring Reece Shearsmith & Julian Sands will be released in 2017. In 2015 Ashley animated the opening Lalo Schifrin scored sequence for Neil Marshall’s (Game of Thrones, Westworld) and Axelle carolyn’s Saturn Award nominated Hollywood Horror feature Tales Of Halloween. Ashley regularly teaches animation, visual effects and filmmaking to a variety of age groups.
