Join Supervising Sound Editor and Re-Recording Mixer Tom Edwards for a full day workshop exploring the world of audio post production for film and documentary.
The day begins by analysing a range of films and television programmes, breaking down the different layers of sound and the terminology used throughout the post production process. We will explore the traditional sound workflow, the software and equipment used by professional sound departments, and discuss where the industry is heading.
You will also learn how to prepare your edits for the sound department, helping to create a smoother handover while improving your own workflow if you are responsible for the final sound yourself.
The afternoon focuses on practical techniques using Adobe Premiere Pro. We will cover best practice for organising and editing audio, cleaning dialogue, laying tracks, adding sound effects, and building a solid foundation for a professional soundtrack.
Every attendee will also receive free access to a digital course designed specifically for editors and producers. The course provides practical guidance on audio post production, working effectively with sound departments, and developing the skills needed to improve future productions long after the workshop has finished.
With credits including Rick Stein, Hellraiser, Sex Education, The One Show and The Repair Shop, Tom’s work has been broadcast and streamed worldwide across BBC, Netflix, Hulu, Discovery, FOX, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
Workshop attendees get 10% off all food and hot drinks at the Cafe Bar.
