Based on the award-winning manga by Fumiyo Kouno, director Sunao Katabuchi (Mai Mai Miracle) directs the inspirational and heartwarming portrait of lives lost and rebuilt, after the blast of Hiroshima.

This is the story of Suzu, who in 1944 moves near Hiroshima to be married. Living with her new family Suzu aids the war effort and runs the household. Until life is halted and the US raids begin and devastating atomic bombings change the course of the war and life as they know it.

With delicious hand-drawn animation this uplifting yet tragic tale shows that even in the face of devastation, people can come together and rebuild their lives.
