+ CURTAIN RAISER FROM EXETER COLLEGE STUDENTS

Combining fast paced choreography with Wendy Houstoun’s witty spoken text, Imagining Otherwise is immersive digital dance that explores the possibility of parallel experiences, and the multitude of choices that spring from it.

Devised by Digital Artist Nic Sandiland, Choreographer Yael Flexer and the company, Imagining Otherwise interweaves visually dynamic digital floor projections with live performance. Evocative images of maps and imagined landscapes are affected and changed by dancers’ movements.

Imagining Otherwise conjures ideas of geography, transience, and how we impact our environment. It playfully explores the infinite possibilities we have from our daily decisions and our wish for things to be different

CURTAIN RAISER: EROSION 

There will be a short curtain raiser before the performance from dance students at Exeter College, who have been working with two dancers from Imagining Otherwise to create a short piece with projection. The title of the work is Erosion.

60 minutes (no interval) – plus curtain raiser (5 mins)

No age restriction but more suitable for age 12+

No flashing lights but the digital lights might be a trigger for those who are light sensitive.
