For the best part of a century twelve eighty-something girls have lived in the Alpine province of Trentino, Italy. Happy in their day to day lives but forever dreaming of what it would be like to dip their toes in the sea, for none of these girls have ever been on holiday before, in fact non of them have ever been in the sea before.
Keen to remedy this, the president of the Pensioners Club begins an adventure that will see them cook pies, pose as calendar models, and a crowdfunding campaign to reach their goal.
Laughter, tears, jealousy and fear accompany the funne (women in the Trentine dialect) and their efforts bring them unexpected notoriety. A true story that reminds us to never give up dreaming, and that our dreams can become reality at whatever age, as long as you never lose enthusiasm, curiosity and the desire to live.
A story so delicate that it seems like a fairy tale.
