Cantata 139 and Baroque Recital

Bach’s Cantata 139 to be sung by the choir, with local soloists, as part of the Cathedral’s evening service. This will be followed by a programme of Baroque music featuring Clive Betts, Mary O’Shea and Leonie Stevenson-Jones. Clive is an internationally known guitar teacher and soloist, whilst Mary is a talented young soprano who sings with the Starling Quartet and the Cathedral’s St Peter’s Singers. Leonie is Principal Flautist in the National Children’s Orchestra. She won the Woodwind Prize in the Exeter Festival and is now auditioning for the BBC Young Musician of the Year. The programme will include one of Bach’s lute suites and music by Handel, Weiss, Purcell and Dowland.
