Dolly’s Film Club Presents: Election (15)

1999 | 99 mins | US

SHOWING TIMES:

  • Sun 12 May: 2.30pm

Join Dolly for a 25th anniversary screening of the 1999 classic black comedy Election! Don’t Pick Flick, always Pick Dolly!

Following the affable social studies teacher, Jim McAllister (Matthew Broderick) whose dislike of overachieving, type A student Tracey Flick (Reese Witherspoon) leads him to interfere in the sticky world of student government politics. A cult classic from Director Alexander Payne (The Holdovers).

Screened in collaboration with BLOOM, Dolly’s Film Club is an inclusive, welcoming community that places value on fun. Dolly’s Film Club celebrates the JOY of being an audience, and fancy dress is encouraged and there’s always has some extra catnip, we will be hosting our own election for a future Dolly title after the screening.

Dolly’s Film Club

Dolly’s Film Club celebrates the camp, kitsch, queer and unapologetically enjoyable side of cinema, but most of all Dolly’s Film Club is to celebrate the JOY of being an audience.

You are always encouraged to wear fancy dress or themed outfits to Dolly’s Film Club, and there’s always a little bit extra catnip involved in our screenings…

DFC launched last year with a screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show, a film it’s more fun to see as an audience… Dolly’s Film Club always adds a little extra catnip, from pop quizzes to DJ Nights. This year Dolly’s Film Club will present a monthly film and we would love you to be part of our club!

Dolly is also a cat 🐈
