EarthSonic presents an EarthSonic Local event, inviting artists and creatives who illustrate the profound connections between music and the natural environment. The evening will comprise a panel talk hosted by climate campaigner and author Tori Tsui, with panelists including Werkha, Frances Fox (Climate Live), and Jason Singh.
The panel will be followed by a performance from sound artist, nature beatboxer and cross-species collaborator Jason Singh and multi-instrumentalist Jihad Darwish. The set will feature semi-improvised music drawing on their influences: the natural world, Indian ragas, live electronics, polyrhythmic structures and experimental jazz.
This event is part of EarthSonic – a global project telling the story of climate change through music, working with indigenous communities, musicians, cultural organisers, scientists and climate activists and experts. The project aims to distill complex data and reach young people’s hearts and minds, inspiring a clear call to action and unifying a movement to tackle climate change.
